Orbit ERP
A full enterprise resource planning system built for the Spirited Union Group.

The project
Orbit ERP combines financial management, supply chain and operations, advanced excise movements, and connections to the company's accounting and booking software.
Full disclosure
Spirited Union is Ruben's own company. Orbit ERP was built to solve his own problem first, with his own money on the line. That is the reason to trust it rather than a reason to discount it. Nobody scrutinises a cash flow forecast harder than the person whose payroll depends on it.
The problem
Repetitive financial management work was eating the team's time, and there was no real time view of cash flow and liquidity. That gap was the reason for the build.
How we built it
We started with the accounting department. Their transactions were the leading source of truth for revenue and results, so we mapped how they organised them before writing anything.
From there we built a model covering profit and loss, cash flow and the balance sheet, driven by smart input fields rather than manual entry.
What feeds the model
- Commercial input: sales forecasting and budgeting per SKU, across multiple markets and customers, each with their own lead times and payment terms
- Supply chain: a sales and operations planning dashboard showing supply against demand, with production and demand forecasts feeding ordering and cash flow
- Marketing spend
- Operating expenses
Everything resolves into cash flow: a twelve week short term forecast showing runway, and a long term cash flow statement with multi year forecasting.
Also included
- Version control across scenarios
- Multiple users with their own access
- Advanced excise movement management
- Statiegeld and user tax management, with declarations to government tax authorities
The result
The finance team stopped rebuilding spreadsheets, and the business got a live view of liquidity that it did not have before.
